NASS at the 2nd MENA Spine Congress

The 2nd MENA Spine Congress took place on January 23–24, 2026, at the Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre, UAE, bringing together leading spine specialists from around the world to exchange knowledge and advance global spine care. As part of the program, NASS hosted a dedicated symposium focused on international collaboration, leadership, and innovation in spine surgery and care.

The NASS Symposium, International Collaboration and Leadership to Advance Global Spine Care, highlighted several key areas critical to advancing spine care globally. Presentations addressed international education and research initiatives, strategies to improve neglected spine care in developing countries, and the importance of standardizing endoscopic spine surgery education through emerging tools such as virtual reality, simulation, and cadaver-based training.

Additional discussions examined the global challenges of reimbursement for innovative spine technologies and the role of academic spine societies in developing the next generation of leaders in spine care. Featured presentations were delivered by Patrick C. Hsieh, MD, MBA; Jeffrey C. Wang, MD; Hani H. Mhaidli, MD, PhD; Jin-Sung Luke Kim, MD, PhD; and Don K. Moore, MD, followed by an interactive panel discussion and Q&A session.

Beyond the NASS symposium, the Congress offered a comprehensive scientific program covering a wide range of spine-related topics, including artificial intelligence and emerging innovations, degenerative spine conditions, deformity and malalignment, cervical myelopathy, trauma, imaging, pain management, osteoporosis, tumors, and advanced surgical technologies.

NASS would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the conference chairman, Sameh Abolfotouh, MD, ABMS, for providing the opportunity to participate in the Congress. His leadership and vision were instrumental in bringing together international experts and creating a platform for meaningful collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advancement in global spine care. This partnership enabled NASS to further our shared mission of improving patient outcomes worldwide.
